We took our first family camping trip of the year during the first weekend in May. We went to Moab, and camped right on the Colorado River. It was the first time we used our new Coleman tent that we purchased at Costco. It's huge, and great for the whole family!
Beckham did really well at night.
We were able to visit Arches National Park. It was nice and warm, and not too awful busy. I wouldn't want to go in the summer when it's super-hot and packed with people. That's why we chose to come here this time of year.
The fam in front of Landscape Arch, possibly the longest arch in the world.
We've hiked to Delicate Arch in the past, and we were running out of time, so we just saw it from a distance this time. Plus the kids were getting tired of hiking. We went to a lot of different spots!
The last day we went on one last short hike to this cool little water hole.
On May 12, I competed in my first (and only) Triathlon of the season. This is my 3rd time doing the Spring Sprint Tri at the fitness center right by my house. And this is the only pic I have:
My results: Swim 9:55, T1 2:36, Bike 50:36, T2 1:53, Run 28:21, Total 1:33:17.8, Third in my age division!
Little did we know, that the next day, on Mother's Day, May 13, a huge wrench was thrown into our lives when we unexpectedly lost Kevin's dear mother, Myrna, at the age of 69. That is a separate blog post in itself, to come next...
I took pictures for Star Dance Studio on May 15. The girls have decided to take a break from dance for a little while, and possibly try something else, like soccer, basketball, volleyball, etc.
Here is Beckham being cute on May 22, at just over 10 months old...
May 25 was the girls' last day of school, and Ryker's Pre-school graduation from the 3 year old class. He has one more year of pre-school before Kindergarten. I got this cute idea off of Pinterest for a teacher gift. We gave one to all of the kids' teachers.
That night we celebrated the last day of school with the first circle BBQ of the summer!
On May 29, I took the kids on a hike up Bells Canyon, to the lower waterfall. My dad, sister, and her kids all joined us. It was about 5 miles round trip.
And that covers our busy month of May!
