Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great Memorial Day weekend at the barn in Wyoming. We planned on staying Friday to Monday, but ended up staying until Wednesday! Kevin's mom's family still owns the property where they were born and raised, and are converting the barn into a cabin. This time we worked on the farm house though, getting it rentable again. If you care to see all of the pics, click here for the slide show. (I took lots of pictures!)

This is the spot where Kevin & I first kissed almost 10 years ago! xxxxx

And here's a picture of the barn.

Trin's pre-school graduation

Trinidee graduated from Miss Barbara's pre-school last Friday, May 22. At one point I was going to hold her back (her b-day is middle of August), but she's been doing so well that we've decided to let her move on to Kindergarten. Here she is with one of her friends And here she is saying the Pledge of Allegiance with her hand on her "heart"
She did a great job singing the songs.

Congrats, Trin! We are so proud of you!!

Ogden

My family went up to Ogden this weekend for the Ogden Marathon. We stayed at the Best Western Hotel, and they had this nice park with a pond, fish, waterfall, etc. We didn't have a lot of time Friday night because we got there kind of late. We just went to the Union Station to pick up my race packet, then had dinner at a restaurant by the hotel, then went behind the hotel so the kids could see the fish, eat their suckers, etc.

Here are the crowds the morning of the race. It was FREEZING! I had sweats on and I was shivering to death! The start is near Huntsville.

These fire barrels were so wonderful! What a brilliant idea. They had a bunch of them scattered all over the field. It felt SO nice to be able to get warm!

And here I am finishing.

I'd have to say this course is my new favorite! It was gorgeous country and mountain scenery. There was hardly any uphill. LOTS of flat and downhill, especially near the end when you need it! My time (not including potty breaks), was 3:55:38, and my "official" chip time is 4:01:38. It was a great day, and I'm looking forward to doing that one again someday. Now I think I'll give my body a break for a while!

You should never.....

Leave an OPEN bucket of motor oil in the garage where kids can REACH it.

If you do, this is sure to happen.....

Ward Garden

Last night for our combined Young Men/Young Womens activity, we prepped the ward garden for planting. We have a sister in the ward that lets us use her whole back yard. The ward plants and takes care of it, and whoever wants to can come and get the food grown in it! We didn't do it last year, so there was quite a bit of overgrowth. Here it is before, notice the sad faces:

And here it is after! The youth are planning on sectioning off their own portion of the garden to claim as "theirs" and take care of it. We plan on doing a salsa garden and maybe some pumpkins for the fall.

Random Ryker pics

Here's a cute shot of Ryker when he's still in the "waking up" mode.

Here he is after he climbed onto the counter and found the open Peanut Butter jar.

Playing with his tractor, I love his FAT little hands!

And he loves to splash in the bath!

My niece

I've had the chance to watch my cute little niece, Jovi the past few days. I got permission to "practice" my photography skills on her, and I'm also learning how to digital scrap on www.scrapblog.com, so here's a little sample I thought I would share:

Isn't she a cutie?
