Over the first weekend in October, I was able to go with my friends for a girls weekend. We decided on Moab this time, and it was a blast! The weather was perfect. Not too hot, not too cold. We went on some hikes, ate yummy food, did some shopping, and stayed up late playing games & talking. I love my friends! I'm so glad we've stayed close since High School for almost 20 years. :)
Canyonlands National Park was closed due to the government shutdown, but there were other places outside the National Park that we could go.
Our first hike was to Corona Arch, about 3 miles round trip. I thought this railroad track going through these red cliffs was pretty cool.
Bowtie Arch on the left, 3 of us at the base of Corona Arch on the right.
Looking down! We saw some other people climbing to the top of Corona Arch. We started to climb up, then chickened out at the heights and decided not to.
The next little hike was to these Dino-tracks & Petroglyphs. Pretty cool.
That same day, we also hiked to Morning Glory Bridge. It was a fun hike, about 4.5 miles round trip.
Then we went to this fun little water spot near town before we headed to dinner at a Thai restaurant. Yum!
The next day, on our way home, we wanted to hike to the Hot Pots in Diamond Fork Canyon (off of Spanish Fork canyon). We had been there, but not since High School. We all wanted to go back, so we did! It was just how I remembered it. And the fall colors were fabulous! This one's about 2.5 miles round trip. I want to go there this winter!
Here's to good friends!
