A Perfect Thanksgiving....
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving today! It started with the Turkey Trot 6K at City Creek Canyon. Kevin & I ran it together. He doesn't run often at all, so I really enjoyed having him there with me. The only thing that bothers me is that I'm the one who trains all the time, but he still beats me every time we run together. We did a 5K last Thanksgiving, and we'd like to make it a tradition every year. I can't think of a better way to start off the day than to go for a good run!
I couldn't resist taking a picture of these crazies. One's an indian, and one's a turkey, (in case you couldn't tell).
Here we are after the race. Kev finished 17th in his age group w/ 32:36, and I finished 18th in my age group w/ 33:18. There were about 1000 racers!
By the capitol.
We cleaned up, made our pies and veggie tray, then headed over for a delicious Thanksgiving Feast!
And what is Thanksgiving without a nap?...
Some Football....
Reading all the ads......
And a good brotherly arm wrestle!!
By the way, it was a tie. They just sat in that position for a long time, and called it even.
Here are our PIES!!
Tonight we turned on our Christmas lights. We like to wait until after Thanksgiving to turn them on. Ta Daa!
Here's a cool Thanksgiving poem:
Thanksgiving Every Day
The table is brimming with good things to eat;
We're surrounded by family and friends; what a treat.
The feelings that fill us today can't be beat;
It's Thanksgiving Day, and it all feels complete.
But other days, sometimes things don't seem so fine;
Those days are not polished and don't seem to shine.
It's then in our minds, we forget all the good,
And think of the things we would get, if we could.
On days when our thinking causes us dread,
If we could remember, it's all in our head,
And not let our minds take our gratitude away,
Then we'd make every day like Thanksgiving Day.

Ryker's newest accomplishment
Ryker can now get himself safely off of the couch. Hooray! I didn't get video of him doing it, but here's some pictures showing his step-by-step.
Good boy!

Disney on Ice
On Friday I took the girls to Disney on Ice with some friends from the ward. It was a lot of fun, and the kids loved it! Kevin stayed home with Ryker for some manly bonding time. :)
Emily, Bailee, Trinidee
Some of the Disney Characters near the ending of the show. The camera I took doesn't zoom, so the picture is kind of crappy. Oh well, you get the idea.
All the kids fell asleep on the way home. It was only 6:30!

Snow pictures
Even though this snow melted days ago, I thought I'd post some of the pics of Bailee playing in it.
Snow Angel!
This is the scarf we put on the snowman. (I didn't get a picture of the finished product though)
Bailee's starting to roll the ball..
Trin doesn't like to spend much time in the snow for some reason. She opted to stay inside & watch TV.

Park City
This past Saturday we spent in Park City with the Chapman family at the Westgate. They had the room for the whole week, and we went swimming on Monday night as well. We ate, played games, and had lots of fun!

Hair....
This is what I get to brush through every morning. Trinidee's hair never gets as tangled as Bailee's. What's the deal? Bailee must just be a really rough sleeper.
