October

You guessed it. This blog post starts off with more time spent in the mountains. This time I went with my dad on a ride on the Timpanooke trail up to the basin. October 5. This is the brand new expanded Timpanooke trailhead parking lot. Opened that very day!

They're hard to see, but there's a lil herd of deer running down the mountain.

Uinta Mountains off in the distance.

The basin, with the saddle and summit in view. This is as far as we went that day.

On October 13, my nephew Toby was baptized!

Bailee got her first round of braces off on October 15! Now she just wears a retainer until more of her adult teeth grow in. :) Then she'll get another set of braces.

October 15 was also Ryker's 5th birthday!! He had a great day with a fun party with friends, and lots of new toys! He's such a happy boy.

On October26, our ward had a pinewood derby where everyone could participate. Not just the scouts! I was excited because, growing up, I never got to do a pinewood derby car and I was always jealous of my brothers.

We procrastinated and didn't build our cars until a few hours before the race. We made 2 cars. One for the girls, and one for the boys. Here are the kids looking for ideas on the internet...

And of course, October 31 was Halloween! We had a fun time this year. It was unusually warm weather, and we enjoyed every minute of it! After Kevin took the kids trick-or-treating, some friends hung out with us, and we ate chinese together for a late dinner. :)

Little Mummy hot dogs...

The older kids ran around playing hide & seek since the weather was so nice!

Our neighbors, the Zierse's had their fire pit going, and when the moon came up I tried to get a shot of them both...

Aaaand, I made another video! Here's our Halloween 2012:
